MG India and HPCL team up to augment MG India and HPCL team

MG Motor India and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) announced their strategic partnership to enhance the country's electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Under this alignment, MG and HPCL will together install 50kW/60kW DC fast chargers at key locations covering highways and cities across India. The collaboration focuses on providing convenience to EV users by increasing the availability of EV chargers during their long distance and intercity commutes. High levels of ‘good cholesterol’ may increase dementia risk

The study authors explained that very high levels of HDL-C associated with dementia risk in their research were uncommon and not connected to diet, but there was a greater chance it indicated a metabolic disorder. Researchers examined 18,668 healthy older participants who were mostly over the age of 70. During an average 6.3 years of follow-up, participants with very high HDL-C (>80 mg/dL or >2.07 mmol/L) at the start of the study had a 27% higher risk of dementia compared to those with optimal HDL-C levels (for men: 40 to 60 mg/dL or 1.03–1.55 mmol/L; for women: 50 to 60 mg/dL or 1.55–2.07 mmol/L). In addition, participants who were 75 years and older demonstrated a 42% increased risk in dementia compared to those with optimal levels of HDL cholesterol. A 10-year-old boy lost his life in Kottayam, Kudakkachira, while attempting to retrieve a ball that had fallen into a well. The deceased, identified as Liju (10), son of Biju Paul, tragically slipped and fell into the well around 10:30 am on Wednesday.The accident occurred while Liju was playing in the backyard with his sister and other relatives. Bird flu in Kottayam: Ban on sale of poultry imposed; culling begins

Kottayam: Bird flu has been confirmed at Mannarkkad local poultry breeding centre in Kottayam, according to District Collector V Vigneshwari. The Animal Welfare Department reported that 9,000 chickens were being raised there. H5N1 virus was confirmed following the deaths of numerous chickens with tests being conducted at the National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases Lab in Bhopal.To contain the spread, a one-kilometre radius around the confirmed site has been declared a bird flu-affected area. All domestic birds within this radius will be culled and disposed of under the supervision of the Animal Welfare Department. Disinfection measures will also be carried out here. The Rapid Action Team from the Animal Welfare Department will be responsible for culling and disposing of the birds according to guidelines set by the Central Government in 2021. Four people, including three labourers, died after inhaling toxic gas while cleaning a 15-year-old septic tank in the New Mahal area in Chandauli, police said. A man was allegedly beaten to death as he tried to intervene in a fight between his brother and other players during a cricket match in Delhi’s Bharat Nagar area, the police said.
