What is liver cell carcinoma

Liver cell carcinoma, also known as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is a type of cancer that originates in the liver cells. It is the most common type of liver cancer and the fifth most common cancer worldwide. The incidence of liver cell carcinoma is increasing globally, and it is estimated that there are approximately 900,000 new cases diagnosed annually. Risk Factors: Several factors can increase the risk of developing liver cell carcinoma, including: Chronic hepatitis B or C infection Cirrhosis of the liver Alcohol consumption Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) Diabetes Obesity Exposure to aflatoxins (toxic substances produced by a type of fungus) Symptoms: In the early stages, liver cell carcinoma may not cause any symptoms.
