Kottayam: An elderly man was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the pavement of a shop in Mukkoottuthara here on Thursday.The deceased has been identified as Gopi, a 78-year-old lottery ticket seller. A head injury is deemed to be the cause of death. The exact cause of death will be officially established only after the post-mortem examination, according to the investigative team.
The police suspect that he was murdered. A person suspected of involvement in the incident has been taken into custody by the Erumely police. The investigation has made it clear that the individual in custody assaulted Gopi.
The police have also unearthed some wall writing near the location where the body was found, adding mystery to the incident.
