Heartburn After Meal: Why There Is Heartburn After Eating

Heartburn is not a serious disease, but it can be a very disturbing condition. Heartburn is called heart burn in English language and its medical name is “Acid reflux”. Before understanding the cause of acid reflux, you have to understand that the food we chew and swallow passes through the esophagus to the stomach. At the end of the food pipe is a valve made of a ring of muscle called a sphincter. This sphincter opens to let food into the stomach and then closes. If this sphincter is unable to close properly, the acidic contents inside the stomach move into the esophagus and cause irritation. Now the question remains why the sphincters stop working properly. Let us know what is the cause of heartburn after eating and how to treat it at home. Obesity and heartburn Obesity can be the biggest reason for causing heartburn. Due to increase in obesity, the pressure inside the stomach increases, due to which the sphincters are not able to control the pressure and heartburn starts. Smoking drinking and heartburn Smoking and consuming alcohol damages the muscles. In this case, the sphincter muscles stop working properly and problems like heartburn start to occur. Mental illness and heartburn Mental diseases like anxiety, stress and depression also affect the normal working process of the muscles and for this reason problems related to heartburn can be seen. Hormonal problems and heartburn Any change in the balance of hormones causes the sphincter muscles to relax and this car does not allow the sphincter to close properly. Especially after eating food, heartburn starts because the sphincter opens and closes slowly while swallowing food. During this, some acid reaches the food pipe, which causes heartburn for a long time. Home remedies for heartburn If you are having heartburn after eating food, you can treat it with baking soda or aloe vera. Baking soda acts as an effective antacid. Add less than half a teaspoon of baking soda to half a glass of fresh water and consume it after 20 minutes of eating. By doing this, the problem of heartburn will go away, but it should not be used regularly. Aloe vera juice also acts as a natural antacid. Extract two teaspoons of fresh aloe vera juice and mix it well in half a glass of water. Consume it after 15 minutes of eating food. However, it can be consumed regularly. You can consume it once a day.
