According to Dr. Parineeta, it is very important to remain physically active from the beginning of pregnancy. If you were exercising before getting pregnant, do not stop them after pregnancy. Therefore, women who stop exercising during pregnancy should not do so.
Do light exercise for the first 3 months
According to Dr. Parineeta, you should not do much intense physical activity for the first three months. Do not do any exercise or hard work in which your body is exerting excessive force. It is not that you should stop doing physical activities for the first three months, but you are advised not to do strenuous exercise. During this you can do walking, swimming, breathing exercise and light stretching etc. Also, keep in mind that if you are not already doing any exercise, then do not start it for the first three months of pregnancy.
Exercise after three months
After the first three months, you can increase your physical activity as per the doctor's advice. However, during this time also do not start any exercise without consulting the doctor. Continue the exercises prescribed by the doctor as per his advice so that all the systems of the body function properly and muscle strength and stability are maintained.
