In the affidavit given to the Election Commission of Pakistan, Pervez Musharraf declared his assets to be around 62 crore Pakistani rupees. According to the report, Pervez Musharraf had cash of about two billion Pakistani rupees in his offshore bank accounts alone. Apart from this, movable and immovable property was separate. According to the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, Musharraf's assets include 1.96 million shares of Bank Al-Falah, 170 gold jewelery items, furniture worth Rs 60 lakh and other items worth Rs 80 lakh. In his book, Musharraf admitted that he was from a modest family and that his family did not have much money, but in the book he claimed that he paid a salary of Rs 5 lakh per month to his servants.

Born in New Delhi, Pervez Musharraf's family shifted to Karachi in Pakistan after the partition of India and Pakistan. He was the President of Pakistan from 2001 to 2008. He was convicted of treason by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. After which he moved to Dubai in 2016 on medical grounds and since then he was living in Dubai.
