For The First Time In UP, Thyroid Cancer Operation Was Done By Robotic Surgery, The Lump Was Removed From The Patient's Neck Without Incision.

A major success related to the treatment of thyroid cancer has been achieved in Uttar Pradesh. Successful robotic surgery was performed here on a patient suffering from thyroid cancer. This is the first time that thyroid cancer was treated with the help of robotic surgery. According to the information received, this 21-year-old patient at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences was treated by the doctors of the hospital with the help of robotic surgery. The patient is a 21-year-old female who had papillary thyroid cancer and was operated upon with the help of robotic surgery which was successful. According to the information provided by the hospital, this is the first such surgery in India where a cancerous tumor was completely removed with the help of robotic surgery in a government institution. The patient is a resident of Prayagraj and this woman had developed a lump in her neck, after which she was examined and the tumor was confirmed by Kamla Nehru Cancer Hospital. non incisional surgery Dr. Gyan Chand, Robotic Thyroid Surgeon at SGPIMS Hospital said, “A lump had formed in the thyroid gland in the neck of this woman and its size was increasing continuously. Since this case was very serious and in such cases it is not easy to do surgery without making incisions or cuts in the throat. In view of the situation, the female patient was referred to the hospital in Lucknow. After preliminary tests at the Kamla Nehru Cancer Hospital in Prayagraj, the doctors told the family that the lump was malignant. Complications were many and hence it was difficult to operate without an incision. Whereas, the doctors of Kamla Nehru Hospital referred the patients to SGPGI, Lucknow. However, it is a matter of relief that, later after the necessary tests, the doctors came to know that the woman has papillary thyroid cancer , which can be removed with the help of robotic method. With the consent of the female patient's family, Dr. Gyan and his team removed the cancerous thyroid gland and several other lumps in the neck of the patient without incision. This operation took 4 hours and the operation was successful. According to the information received, now the female patient is absolutely fine.
