India's Health System On The Target Of Cyber Hackers! Cyber Attack On ICMR Server After AIIMS And Safdarjung
Days after a cyber attack on the servers of the two premier health institutes All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi and SafThe report quoting an official from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) said that on November 30, hackers made 6,000 attempts, in 24 hours, to breach the ICMR server firewall. According to the official, an attack was made from a Hong Kong-based blacklisted IP address, 103.152.220.133.
ICMR's website is hosted at the NIC Data Centre, which according to the official, is updated regularly. The server firewall did not have any loopholes, and thus the attack attempts were unsuccessful. The ICMR has found the website in order, said the official."The attackers were blocked, they couldn't succeed. We have alerted the team about it. If the firewall had some loopholes, then the attackers might have succeeded in breaching the security of the website," the NIC official said.The attack on ICMR comes just days after the ransomware attack on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences' (AIIMS) server that affected almost all the hospital sections. Because of the attack, AIIMS Delhi servers have been down for over ten days. Attempt to hack server from Hong Kong
If sources are to be believed, an attempt to hack ICMR's server (ICMR Website Cyber Attack) has been made by cyber criminals from Hong Kong, in which involvement of a blacklisted IP address has been found. At the same time, a detailed report is being prepared by the National Informatics Center (NIC) in this whole matter.
Where and when did cyber attacks happen?
AIIMS Delhi was cyber-attacked on November 23, after which the hospital's server was down for 9 hours, then AIIMS officials said that cyber criminals attacked the server, due to which the server was completely down. After this, on December 2, five other servers of the hospital were attacked again. It was suspected that the attack was done by Chinese hackers.
While the case of AIIMS was still going on, on December 4, news of cyber attack also came from Safdarganj Hospital in Delhi, but this attack was not as serious as that of AIIMS.
