People have not even fully recovered from the Corona Pandemic and now another virus has knocked in the world. In Ghana, West Africa, 2 people have been found infected with the Marburg virus. In a statement issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), it has been said that 2 people in Ghana in whom the infection has been confirmed have died. According to Ghana's Ministry of Health, two people who have been confirmed have shown symptoms of diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and nervousness.
The World Health Organization has come on alert after a patient infected with the dreaded Marburg virus was found in Ghana, West Africa. Virology experts say about the Marburg virus that it spreads faster than the Ebola virus. The WHO insisted that the results of the sample have been sent to the Pasteur Institute in Dakar, Senegal for complete confirmation. This laboratory works with the United Nations Health Agency. It is worth noting that the vaccine for Marburg virus has not yet been developed. If this disease spreads then it will be very difficult to control it.
The WHO says that the death rate of this virus is up to 88 percent. In a statement issued by Dr Matshidiso Moeti, WHO's regional director for Africa, it has been said that Marburg has the potential to spread rapidly, so it needs to be stopped as soon as possible. According to the World Health Organization, the Marburg virus is spread by human contact with bats. Once a person is infected with Marburg virus, it can infect another in the same way as corona.
Symptoms of Marburg virus
According to the World Health Organization, symptoms of hemorrhagic fever are seen in a patient infected with the Marburg virus. Symptoms of hemorrhagic fever can appear between 2 and 21 days.
Symptoms of this virus include high fever, severe headache
muscle pain
abdominal pain and cramps
Nausea and vomiting (in the third week after infection)
weak eyes
Bleeding from the nose and gums may also occur within 7 days in some patients who become infected.
Treatment for Marburg virus?
There is currently no vaccine or 100% effective treatment for Marburg virus.
