1.Drink Plenty Of Water
If your body is dehydrated, your urine output will decrease. Dehydration can also increase risk of development of kidney stones and urinary tract infections. So, keep yourself hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water.
2.Add More Fiber In Your Diet
If you have severe constipation, it could be the cause of your urinary retention. Apart from drinking plenty of water, add more fiber in your diet to prevent or treat constipation.
3.Apply Diluted Peppermint Oil
Peppermint oil is a well-known traditional remedy for urinary tract infections (UTIs). It has also been studied for treatment of postpartum urinary retention in women. Add a few drops of the essential oil into the toilet water and use it to clean your genital area.
4.Drink Dandelion Tea
Dandelion is known to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may help treat bladder inflammation and related urinary problems. You may try drinking dandelion tea to see if it really works.
5.Do Kegel Exercises
Also known as pelvic floor exercises, performing these exercises help strengthen the muscles under the uterus, bladder, and bowel stronger, and thereby helps improve bladder and bowel function.
