Do not offer Tulsi leaves to Ganesh ji, Tulsi leaves should not be used even by mistake in worshiping Lord Ganesha. It is said that the use of Tulsi in the worship of Ganesha angers Lord Ganesha and the worship does not yield auspicious results. Why is Tulsi forbidden in the worship of Ganesha? According to mythological beliefs, once Ganesha was doing penance on the banks of river Ganges. During this period, Tulsi, the daughter of Dharmatmaj, went on a pilgrimage with the desire of marriage. Goddess Tulsi reached all the pilgrimage places and reached the banks of the Ganges. There Goddess Tulsi saw that Ganesh ji was absorbed in penance. According to religious scriptures, Lord Ganesha, who was absorbed in penance, was seated on a jeweled throne. All his parts were covered with sandalwood. There were many necklaces of gold and gems with Parijat flowers around his neck. Along with this, he was wearing a garland of fragrant sandalwood. His image was looking very adorable. Goddess Tulsi was fascinated by this beautiful form of Ganesh ji and the desire to marry Shri Ganesh arose in her mind. Tulsi distracted her from her desire for marriage. At the same time, Ganesh ji rejected Tulsi's marriage proposal, claiming himself to be a celibate. On rejecting the marriage proposal, Tulsi got angry and cursed Ganeshji that he would not have one but two marriages. Lord Ganesha got angry on this and he also cursed Tulsi that you will be married to an Asura. Hearing the curse of being the wife of a demon, Tulsi apologized to Ganesha. Then Gauri's son Ganesh told Tulsi that you will be married to the demon Shankhchurna. But then you will be the one who gives life and salvation to the world in Kali Yuga along with being dear to Lord Vishnu and Shri Krishna. But offering Tulsi in my worship will not be considered auspicious. Since then, offering Tulsi in the worship of Lord Ganesha has been considered a taboo in Hinduism.
